OUR HISTORY
There were three best friends named Ahmad, Ah Boon, and Riva who lived in a village in the 1980s. Ah Boon and Riva are adopted siblings because Riva was adopted by Ah Boon’s mother when she was little. Other than the younger generation, Ahmad and Ah Boon’s mothers are also the best of friends due to their love for culinary.
Together with their mothers, Ahmad, Ah Boon, and Riva had regularly visited each other’s homes when they were little. While Ahmad, Ah Boon, and Riva were playing with each other, their mothers were experimenting with cooking in the kitchen. Initially, the mothers came up with stone-grounded biscuits. All of them including the three children loved it upon tasting it.
Subsequently, the mothers came up with an idea to start a small business selling stone-grounded biscuits to their fellow villagers. Ahmad, Ah Boon, and Riva also helped out their mothers in preparing and selling the stone-grounded biscuits. As the stone-grounded biscuits were very well-received, their mothers decided to expand their offering by coming up with various other innovative versions of traditional Malaysian foods, which were also well-received. However, the business ended when their mothers aged while Ahmad, Ah Boon, and Riva started working.
During a gathering between Ahmad, Ah Boon, and Riva as well as their respective families in 2020, they reminisced about their childhood memories, especially the stone-grounded biscuits that were made by their mothers. At this moment, Ah Boon suggested that they pass down this traditional Malaysian food tradition to subsequent generations by reviving the small business that was conducted by their mothers. Without hesitation, Ahmad and Riva agreed to the plan. And so, history repeated itself when Ahmad, Ah Boon, and Riva roped in their immediate family members to help out in the small business.
Out of expectation, the traditional Malaysian foods were very well-received by today’s consumers including both locals and foreign tourists. As a result of the three friends’ business acumen, their business grew rapidly and they also further expanded their business via a licensing business format. This is so that this tradition can be further expanded while also providing a business opportunity to other people at the same time.
